Grace Davison Sets New Irish Junior Swimming Record

Grace Davison set a new Irish record at the Ards Swimming Club Open Club Meet this past Saturday (13 May 2023) at Blair Mayne Leisure Centre, Newtownards.

Davison achieved 1:58.75 in the 200m Freestyle, breaking Sycerika McMahon's 2011 record of 1:59.46. Davison is now a record holder for the 50m, 100m and 200m Irish Junior SC.

Davison is an upcoming Irish star, and by the end of last year's short course season, she had set 8 new Ulster Junior Records, 3 Irish Junior Records and 1 Irish Senior Relay Record. She also won the Ards and North Down Sports Awards 2022 - Sports Person of the Year Under 15.

This year, Davison was selected to join 19 swimmers to represent Ireland in the inaugural LEN Under 23 European Championships and one of 13 of Ireland's top junior swimmers chosen to represent Ireland at the 2023 LEN European Junior Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, this July.
