Republic of Ireland manager Vera Pauw unveiled her 28 player squad at Cadbury's HQ Friday morning.Pauw is without some important players for the crunch showdown with injuries ruling out Savannah McCarthy, Megan Connolly, Ruesha Littlejohn, Ellen Molloy, Aoife Colvill and Leanne Kiernan.

However in more positive news, Niamh Fahey and Jamie Finn are back in the Republic of Ireland squad after missing the win over Slovakia that helped Ireland finish second in Group A.

Pauw said "We have many players that in a positive way are pulling up the others to a higher level. I am very proud of that, because I feel that many players are performing at a higher level with us than at their club, and that is because of those players."

"Those players give them the space to grow and they help them to grow. You don't see that often. So together, we are in a good space in that sense."

The squad will be away to either Scotland or Austria, who play each other on Thursday.

Unusually, Ireland will not know who they will be up against in the qualifier until a few days before the game. Pauw remarked: "It's a bit odd. Never seen that before,"

"The opponent can fully concentrate on us already. But we have organised that. There's three people going to the Scotland-Austria game."

Players will report into camp Tuesday, October 4th and preparations will begin at the FAI National Training Centre.
