Ireland International Kyra Carusa's club San Diego Wave defeated Gotham FC 1-0 to win the NWSL Challenge Cup Friday night (March 15).

USWNT striker Alex Morgan scored the winner in the 88th minute on a corner from Savannah McCaskill.
Carusa, who is eligible to represent Ireland through her Irish grandparents and made her international debut in 2020, started.
There were good chances on both sides in the first half but energy kicked up after the break with the introduction of several USWNT players recovering after a grueling Gold Cup campaign.
The Challenge Cup is a supercup curtain-raiser for the NWSL season, which began this weekend.
