The Republic of Ireland squad with play the United States (world number one) in two friendlies in April as they continue their World Cup preparations.

Vera Pauw's squad will take on the USA firstly at the Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas on the 8th of April before facing them again three days later at the new CityPark grounds in St.Louis Missouri on the 11th. Both venues have a capacity of over 20,000.

Currently, Ireland are at training camp in Marbella, Spain where they have played both Germany (ranked world number 2) and China PR (ranked world number 14).

Ireland are currently ranked 23rd in the FIFA standings following their World Cup qualification. The Irish squad has gone from strength to strength and compeition has never been as fierce for places. Aoife Mannion, Marissa Sheva and Deborah-Anne De La Harpe are recent call-ups to the squad (you can read more about them here), and Pauw has hinted that there may be another new arrival incoming.

Ireland will host Zambia at Tallaght Stadium on the 22nd of June before their final friendly against France (ranked fifth in the world) also in Tallaght Stadium on July 6th before they jet off down under.

The Girls in Green will play their first 2023 FIFA World Cup group game against hosts Australia in Sydney on July 20th.
