Chelsea VS Manchester United: FA Cup Final 2023 Showdown

Reigning Women’s Super League champions, Chelsea, will face Manchester United in the 2023 Women's FA Cup Final this Sunday, 14 May 2023.

The final will be played at a sold-out Wembley Stadium, making the final a record-breaking occasion. Last years final saw Chelsea take on Manchester City in front of 49,094 supporters - this year, the stadium will be full to capacity with 90,000 spectators.

The two women’s football giants are currently first and second in the domestic league, with Manchester United on a four point lead at the very top following five consecutive wins.

After a whopping 7-0 win against Everton this past weekend, Chelsea impressed many with their top scoring form. Should Chelsea win the final, it will be their third consecutive Women’s FA Cup triumph following their win in the 2020/21 final over Arsenal and in the 2021/22 final over Manchester City.

Manchester United have yet to claim a Women’s FA Cup trophy, having finished fourth in the 2021/22 season. This season already marks their best run in the competition, having secured their spot in the final after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Brighton.

With a domestic double on the cards for both sides, the 2023 Women’s FA Cup Final is set to be an exciting showdown between two of England’s best women’s sides.

The Blues manager Emma Hayes says her side are timing their run to achieve success: "It's about peaking for the right moments in the season," Hayes told Sky Sports.

"We've been chasing in the league all year and we know we have to be perfect to win the league this year but this was the sort of performance, and the goals, that we needed to help us kick on."
