A temporary museum exhibition has been installed in Paris to explore the history of the Olympic Games within the city ahead of the latest edition this summer.
Titled ‘Paris Olympique: An Immersive Journey’, the 360° experience will inform people about the 1900, 1924 and 2024 Games.
There, visitors will gain unique insight into the “La Ville-Lumière,” or “City of Light”, learning about the Olympics across four themes, to the tune of a Parisian score.
Those categories are listed as follows;
1. Olympic sites
2.Sports and champions
3.Identity
4.Spectacle and culture
The 360° experience component is explained in the official outline as “an audiovisual show featuring minimal text and maximum immersion, accessible for all ages and language speakers.”
The museum also offers people a chance to try out “extinct” Olympic sports for themselves, as well as providing plenty of photo opportunities and even an augmented reality experience.
There will also be an official Olympic shop for visitors to avail of “a full range of Paris 2024 products to mark the Summer Games.”
Prior to entry, attendees can also experience what it is like to colourful stairs to Paris 2024 or walk through the Olympic Park to enjoy nine pillars with anecdotes about the three Parisian Games.
The exhibition will run from the 25th of May to the 19th of January 25 at the ‘Exposition temporaire’ from 9:00 to 18:00 from Tuesday to Sunday, and entry is free of charge.
The duration is said to be 19 minutes, and it is most suitable for English, French and German speakers.
