Irish racing driver Nicole Drought pulled off a sublime showcase in the EnduroKa outing at Oulton Park over the weekend, helping to claw Team Pro Am back from 10th place to finish first and claim the title.

The Tipperary woman, alongside her teammates Justin Roberts and Will Hillyard, clinched that accolade after 102 laps and five hours of intense endurance racing, in less than ample conditions at the Cheshire circuit.

Pro Am team finished with a total time of 5:01:51.428 to top the podium over team KaTastrophy in second and KAsh Strapped Racing in third, with times of 5:02:15.915 and 5:02:26.118 respectively.

They clocked their best lap of 2:29.679 during lap 102, or their final lap, under the cool, calm and collected control of Drought.

“The car control is out of this world, and I tell you what she deserves this win 100%. The performance has been out of this world.”

He also observed her as the No 12 car passed the finish line, pointing out how the team are on the fence absolutely ecstatic with that.”

“That is one of the most impressive defensive drives I’ve seen for a very long time” he added. Incredible. The pressure was relentless!”

After collecting the trophy, Nicole Drought took to social media to reflect on the event, and in particular the closing moments:

“Winner, Winner! Last lap of the race yesterday-what a buzz” she said. "Five hours of intense racing in horrendous conditions, absolutely thrilled to have won with Team Pro-Am Racing!”

"Huge thanks to the team and my teammates for all of their hard work, what a day!” she concluded.
