Following the Cabinet meeting today, it’s being reported that Senior inter-county Gaelic Games training is set to resume from April 19, as the government looks to ease certain Covid-19 restrictions.

Earlier this year in January, a ban on collective training was announced and was implemented to date. Now, it is expected that the government will permit inter-county teams to train from two weeks after Easter.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin is set to address the nation and announce these changes to Ireland’s COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.

It's also been touted that socially distanced sport will recommence from April 26. This includes tennis, golf and perhaps even rowing to name a few. It remains to be seen what the exact restrictions are for the number of people allowed to take part in one group. Further details are expected to be revealed over the coming days.
