2022 European Under-22 Boxing Champion. 2022 World Boxing Champion. But this weekend, Lisa O'Rourke had her attention closer to home, and now she can proudly add 2023 Connacht Intermediate Champion to the list!

Last year, Lisa O'Rourke won gold on her debut at the boxing Senior World Championships, just two months after she became European under-22 champion. But boxing's not all she can do: this Sunday, the day after her 21st birthday, the Castlerea native helped Roscommon to defeat Leitrim 2-13 to 1-7 in the Connacht Intermediate Championship final, breaking Roscommon's run of three back-to-back defeats to Leitrim.
O'Rourke, a midfielder, made several important plays including setting up Aisling Hanly for Roscommon's first goal.

Roscommon was dominant in the first quarter, scoring 0-3 to no score, but seemed to lose momentum when Laura O'Dowd secured a goal for Leitrim, making the score 0-7 to 1-3 at half-time.
However, Roscommon soon recovered. Both goals were made by Aisling Hanly in the last 20 minutes of play, the first assisted by O'Rourke and the second by Niamh Fitzgerald.
Roscommon will be hoping the win will give them momentum heading into the TG4 Intermediate Championship.
