The sun is making more regular appearances and the June bank holiday is around the corner. We should be throwing on the sun cream and getting ready for big championship days.

Unfortunately we aren’t so instead, grab a coffee, kick back and enjoy five minutes in the company of a player who knows all about delivering on big championship days for Galway and Mullagh – Aoife Donohue.

WH: This can’t just be another ad for Mullagh now Aoife!

Any nicknames? Two Hands! Two foot! Jukebox (any tunes?!). I can thank Deccy Walsh for the reason Two Hands never left me!

Of all the teams you have played for, which jersey was your favourite? Mullagh of course!

If you could have the jersey of one opponent you respect the most, who would it be? Has Kate Kelly any jerseys left?!

Who is the biggest whinger at county training? Definitely Sarah Dervan!

And most likely to hang you out to dry on social media on a night out? Definitely Tara Kenny!!

Of everything you’ve won what’s your most cherished medal? Club championship with Mullagh.

Medals up on the wall or thrown in a drawer? Mom has them. I think they are in her very organised press in the sitting room!

Midi socks or long socks? Long but they have to stay up, don’t judge!

WH: We have had a surprising amount of supporters of the long sock. It hasn’t gone away!

Carpool karaoke on the way to training, which song and who would ya get to belt it out with ya? Forever by Chris Brown and I’d get four – Rebecca Hennelly, Tara Kenny, Emma Helebert and Sarah Dervan (The Bratislava Party Bus ????)

Favourite pre match meal? Defo past and chicken.Though I also have a love for a stack of banana and oat pancakes depending on what time the game is on!

And a cheat meal? Pizza or Thai followed by a McFlurry!

Favourite ground to hurl in? Duggan Park, Ballinasloe

What’s the one thing you have to do to play county that you will stop immediately on retirement? Log my daily wellness… Robbie Lane never has to text me for it!

One thing you may not know about me but… I’m actually five foot two and a half

And finally Aoife, hurling rules or leave it as it is? Hurling rules!
