Matchroom boxing CEO, Eddie Hearn, has had enough of Jake Paul’s war of words and has threatenened legal action against him if he refuses to make an official appology. Hearn has threatned a lawsuit for defamation after Jake Paul accused him, with no concrete proof, of 'paying off' the judges in the Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano fight back in April.

Both legally and ethically there is a clear line separating opinion from defamatory lies, Jake Paul knows that, and he purposely crossed that line when he wrongly accused Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn of fixing fights. Nonetheless, he was still given an opportunity to retract his defamatory statements and refused to. Now he will face the legal consequences of his actions” Hearn’s attorney Frank Salzano reported.

Paul and Hearn worked together to put on the biggest women’s fight in history with Hearn promoting Taylor through Matchroom Boxing and Paul promoting Serrano on MostValueablePromotions. Taylor ultimately won with a split decision but it was Paul who took notice to Judge Glenn Feldman scoring the fight 97-93 - the widest scorecard of the three judges.

A few months later, Feldman scored another Matchroom Boxer, Anthony Joshua, in a 115-113 scorecard. The other judges of this fight favored his opponent, Oleksander Usyk, and rewarded him with a split decision victory. Paul wasn’t happy to see Feldman's scoring on the fights and accused Hearn and Feldman of foul play on YouTube. That video is now unavailable and switched to private.

Paul stated “Everyone watched the fight, it’s not a split decision. Usyk had a runaway victory, clearly won the fight. This judge, Glenn Feldman, gives it to Anthony Joshua? It’s like a repeated crime here. This type of sh*t, I’m going to call it out here in boxing because it’s bullsh*t. Clearly, this guy is getting paid money by Matchroom Boxing. That’s a bold statement and an accusation that I don’t take lightly, but it’s just blatantly obvious.”

Hearn has called these accusations ‘outlandishly false’ and claims that he wants a formal apology from Paul. Hearn already gave him a chance to take back his comments, but Paul ignored the opportunity. With Hearn being one of the most powerful boxing promoters in the world, he takes his reputation in the business seriously and doesn’t want ‘some geezer’ ruining his love for the sport or the integrity of his company.
