Athletics Ireland have selected a team of 6 athletes to compete at the European Throwing Cup to be held in Leiria, Portugal on March 11th & 12th.

World U20 finalist Nicola Tuthill will challenge in the U23 grade as she builds towards the European U23 Championships.
Athletics Ireland has stated that they view the European Throwing Cup as a key competition which contributes to the progression of Irish Throwers, and that they intend to support athletes' participation at the European Throwing Cup to reflect their aim of improving Ireland's standing in the European Team Championships, and to assist in developing throwers who are progressing towards European U20 & U23 Championships, World Championships or Olympic Games qualification.
