The UCD community will reunite on Belfield campus for the Arthur Cox UCD Women in Leadership conference on 22 March 2022, in O’Reilly Hall and the UCD University Club.

The exciting line-up of speakers includes Niamh Tallon, UCD alumna and Founder of Her Sport. Niamh joins a panel discussion on “Power and Performance - Women in Sport” alongside Zauri Antia, Ireland Boxing Coach, Sarah Keane, CEO of Swim Ireland, and Eimear Lambe, Irish Rower and Olympic Medallist.

Attendees will also hear from Noeline Blackwell, CEO of the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, Lorna Conn, CEO of Cpl, David McRedmond, CEO of An Post, and Cllr Yemi Adenuga, among many other industry leaders.

The two-day conference founded by UCD alumna, Eimear O’Flynn, includes keynote speakers, panel discussions, networking opportunities, inspiring leadership lectures, and conversations to foster career growth. It will dive into community building, executive sponsorship, innovation and inclusion in finance, technology, and sport, and intersectional female leadership.

Opportunities to network online will be available on the second day of the conference.   Small mentoring circles will allow attendees to connect with industry leaders such as Dee Forbes, Director General at RTÉ, and Aisling McCaffrey, Associate Director of Financial Services Advisory at Grant Thornton.

Martina Fitzgerald, former broadcaster, author, and CEO of Scale Ireland, returns to moderate these important conversations for her third year running.

Martina said, “it is so exciting, and also very timely, that Irish women will gather in person this year for the UCD Women in Leadership conference to discuss the key issues facing them and society, and how we can all ensure a just, safe and more equitable future. Now more than ever, it is so important that the female voices are heard.”

Noeline Blackwell, CEO of Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, will deliver an inspiring address to our audience of alumni, students and corporate contacts.

Noeline said, "this conference is happening as we are all reassessing how we work following the removal of pandemic restrictions. It is a wonderful opportunity for reflection and exchange of ideas amongst those attending about how we lead and how we communicate to make our society and our own work the best it can be in what are still very anxious times."

Lorna Conn, CEO of Cpl, will also address attendees and said, “I am delighted to share my story and I hope, in some small way, it will resonate with attendees who are seeking to make positive changes in their career.”

Mamobo Ogoro, Social Psychologist and Founder of Gorm Media, supported by the UCD Students’ Union Diversity Officer, Paula Martinez, will lead a breakout session, ‘Women on the Wayside - The importance of intersectionality.’

Mambo said, “capturing the particular experiences of women and women with intersecting identities not only creates an inclusive work and social environment, but provides scope as to how we can create more equitable societies.”

The conference is sponsored by Arthur Cox, who are proud to be involved with an event that continues to elevate women’s voices and empower the next generation of leaders.

Simon Hannigan, Partner at Arthur Cox, said, “it is particularly important to support women in business as we emerge from the pandemic and work to break the glass ceiling that continues to exist in organisations in Ireland.”
