VHI Women’s Mini Marathon: 3rd June

The annual VHI Women’s Mini Marathon takes place on the June bank holiday weekend. This is a 10km charity race and is the largest of its kind across the globe! Why not pick a charity to either run or walk for and get involved with the thousands of other women competing! This promises to be one of the best days of the year.

UCD Festival: 9th June

The UCD Festival is back again for its second year and they are hosing a range of high octane activities for the whole family to enjoy. This is ideal for kids as the UCD Sports and Fitness Centre will be hosting tennis coaching as well as rugby and GAA mini-drills. This is a great opportunity to expose young girls to new sports and the best part is its all free! Not to mention there will be a mind and body zone for you to learn great new ways to look after yourself!

Fanta Sandstorm: 9th June

The Fanta Sandstorm award winning 5km beach run is back and it looks like it’s going to be better than ever! This 5k beach run is full challenging obstacles including the tyre mound, the net crawl and the eight-foot wall. You won’t get a better opportunity to get active in a fun and challenging environment. Tour de Burren: 15th & 16th June

This is the 14th year of the Burren Cycling Club’s Tour de Burren. This is easily the best leisure cycling event in the country. This is a great opportunity to try something new and see the picturesque views of the Wild Atlantic Way.  This tour is for people of all abilities and promises to be a memorable experience for all involved. There are numerous events taking place including a 14km Family Loop, a night and day cycle and many more!

Hell & Back: 17th June

Hell & Back is Ireland’s toughest mental & physical endurance challenge. This is the country’s largest and most popular obstacle course run. You may have seen this on RTE1’s popular show, Ireland’s Fittest Families. This event takes place for all ages and is gruelling but at the same time rewarding. This is the perfect opportunity to set yourself a challenge and conquer this obstacle course! Invite your friends too for morale support! Who wouldn’t want to say they’ve conquered Ireland’s toughest obstacle course?

Docklands 5km Race: 28th June

The Docklands 5km Race is open to all runners of all abilities so why not partake in this event and bring along some of your friends!  The race will take place on Thursday at 7:30pm, with the start line at  South Docks at Lime Street. The course covers a lovely loop in Dublin’s Docklands area. All proceeds from this event is used to improve the facilities of Crusaders Athletics Club and to promote sport, health and well-being in the community.

ParkRun: Every Saturday

The ParkRun is a FREE organised 5km fun run or walk which takes place across the globe. It is one of the biggest organised 5km runs and takes place across Ireland now in various locations. This is a wonderful opportunity to get fit, active and healthy by coming along and challenging yourself weekly. The ParkRun is open to people of every age and ability whether you wish to run or walk this, it’s just you against yourself.
